FORBIDDEN FRUIT
Why does forbidden fruit taste the sweetest
Gives the most pleasure and fulfilment
Is the act of saying no
The rebel within us says go
Like the grass looks greener on the other side
It isn't really but the rebel within wants to decide
But satiated it's no longer sweet
It's no different to others to eat
And like the grass use the eyes of your heart
For really both sides you can't tell apart
Lust unlike love has many faces
It dwells within its many voices
And withers and dies like autumn leaves
Creating disenchantment restlessness and unease
Spreading its poison like a disease
Till we are left with nothing at all
For forbidden fruit has destroyed it all
It may at first have the sweetest taste
But you'll find only bitterness in your haste
