I TOLD MYSELF
I told myself I would not write
No more tears crying at night
I would be strong and move on
I told myself you were long gone
And suddenly you were there
Popping into my dreams without a care
I asked you why and nonchalantly you replied
You were never gone you were always there
What am I supposed to do?
Why must I be haunted by you?
There’s a tie that binds that can never be broken
A continuing story the words not spoken
For they are written in feelings and told by the heart
That’s telling me we can never be apart
For destiny can pull such clever tricks
Breaking down walls and tumbling bricks
We can never comprehend the power of fate
It can move mountains and create love from hate
I told myself there’s a message here
Believe in destiny for there’s nothing to fear
