CONVINCE ME
You turn up, like it’s where you belong
Stating you were here all along
I want to believe what your lips say but can I trust your eyes?
Or is this another hoodwink, another guise?
You’re so believable but I’m not the same person
Does your story add up do I believe your version?
You hurt me so much all my trust you destroyed
With your complicated weave of deceit and my heart you toyed
How do I know if this is another fairy story?
Dressing it up and guilting it with all love’s glory
You scarred me this lifetime with a wound that won’t heal
You need to prove to me you’re genuine and what you say is real
Words are empty, promises are hollow
I need to know what your soul feels for your thoughts are shallow
Speak to me with your soul, keep your words out off the equation
Convince me by your soul’s demonstration
