HER PRINCE WAS A FROG
Once upon a time as the story goes
A princess met her prince but little did she know
An answer to her prayers so it would seem
A happy ever ending a wonderful dream
But little did she know this impostor was a frog
More suited to living in a pond under a rotting log
So intent she was through rose tinted lenses viewed
She couldn’t see the frog for the rosy coloured hue
A pedestal she built him ivory and high
She refused to see what was before her very eye
Of course he tumbled down
Denting his fake toy town crown
Her dreams shattered and broken
At last she listened to the truth spoken
The moral of this story a word to the wise
Don’t always believe what you see with your eyes
What sweet words so easily spoken
Can fool your heart and be broken
Follow your intuition, listen to what it says
For you may meet a disguised frog one of these days
