ON YOUR OWN
I wish you could have seen my side
I was open and had nothing to hide
Your world was full of deceit and mistrust
And you tarred me with the same brush
So often I told you I am like no one else
And yet you assumed everyone thought just like yourself
There was nothing I could do
To appease or convince you
You chose to walk through life with a closed down mind
And those blinkered thoughts rendered you blind
To the deceit and lies that engulfed you and surrounded
Their lies you chose to believe I was astounded
I was supposed to be the one you loved
Clearly not, my word was not enough
I'll bet you're still all alone
For until you change your mind set, you'll be on your own
