PICKING UP THE PIECES
Tonight I'm going to write you a letter, I hope it you'll see
For I'm tired of this situation and how it affects me
I'm sick of your hiding, your denials and the blame
For you created all of this, I'm tired of playing the game
Hearts aren't toys to be picked up when you fancy
They are easily broken by lying and sycophancy
Hearts should be valued and cared for and treasured
And in doing so the reward is reciprocated and pleasure
To earn a heart is a special prize
It sure is undeserving of abuse and lies
So I'm taking it back although it's frayed and battered
I'm slowly picking up the pieces you broke and scattered
And slowly I'm piecing it together again
I'm holding you responsible for the hurt and pain
One day you'll feel just as I do
Tormented and hurt, it's coming to you
