THE TREE
The tree
Grew from a seedling be
At first a seed from falling fruit
Tenderly growing its first green shoot
A twig it stretched to become a seedling
Becoming stronger, taller stretching
In the spring it grew blossom
Then one year grew fruit upon
Spring came and summer too
Autumn and winter time just flew
The fresh green buds opened and un curled
Rich dark green leaves grew and unfurled
Then came autumn imparting a red hue
Still the tree grew and grew
Icy frosts chilled
Bent its branches in the wind
Bare and cold winter came
But tall it stood just the same
We can learn from the tree
Life didn't faze it, carried on regardlessly
Nor could it hide nor run away
But rooted to the spot it had to stay
Yet it carried on regardlessly
So much had it been though it's history
Cycles came and cycles went
Some were good and others weren't
But it had the tenacity to carry on
As a result it grew tall and strong
As this is how it could be for you and me
Take 'a leaf' out of the book of the tree.
