BIRDSONG
I long to hear the birdsong and to feel the sunshine on my skin
For my winter has lasted a very long time and I'm so frozen deep within
I need to feel the warmth to take the chill from my bones
But the sun never shines and brings the summer for that I long
I'm in an everlasting chill, a limbo you could say
I ache for my blue sky to brighten up my day
My home has no windows with a door shut tight fast
There's no point in looking out at a landscape where winter always lasts
I do ask for the sun to burn a hole in my walls
But I'm weary of the longing, so tired of it all
I'm fighting every day, fighting on my own
I'm longing for my saviour to bring me my bird song
