ETERNAL CIRCLE
In these stupid hours I philosophise
Writing words at a keyboard that tires my eyes
Wondering what stage is next to come
And where in the cycle of life has a new one begun
For all our struggles are worthwhile
They toughen us up but there will always be smiles
The baby that gurgles and says her first word
The chirping in trees of a tiny bird
The gift of a thank you and the touch of a hand
The walking along the ocean's edge in warm soft sand
The rainbow after the storm the tiny snowflake that glistens and melts
I know life can be tough and I can empathise the pain that's felt
But like winter's snows so cold ends, spring does come
And life's amazing eternal circle carries on
