ROSE PETALS
The rose petals fell to the ground
The wind picked up and blew them all around
I remember when that burgeoning bud was new
So precious and delicate of a baby pink hue
I watched it grow to maturity
So delicate, so beautiful in it's fragility
And as it bloomed with heady fragrance
I watched the bees buzz and around it dance
Then one day the petals fell and the winds blew
It was time, I guess, I knew
Nothing lasts forever one day it will die
But wipe away those tears please don't cry
For everything in life has an end but also a beginning
For winter will pass and soon the birds again will be singing
And through the chilly soil will appear shoots new
For as the sun shines will grow buds of a baby pink hue
But this time they will be stronger and a new cycle will begin
And the bees will buzz and the heady fragrance smelt again
