Wasn't easy to find a pic that matched my poem lol |
LIFE IS WHAT WE MAKE IT A LADY BUG'S TALE
Deep within the forest of green
Belies a kingdom seldom seen
A sad little fairy looks up at the sky
And as she does she begins to cry
A kindly ladybug on her travels stops to look
What ails you my little one
Look how bright shines the sun
I want to reach up and touch the stars
Alas my wings cannot carry me that far
The ladybug coughed and then she croaked
Coughed some more and then she spoke
The stars are still there they have not gone
They merely sleep when shines the sun
But you do not have to fly so far
For all around you there's beautiful stars
Each day when you open your eyes and look
There's many stars you've overlooked
The pretty flowers that dance in the breeze
The whispering chorus of the trees
We take for granted such special treasures
There's so much more in life than out of reach pleasures
For many's a time over a fence or over the other wall
Once we have it, we didn't want it after all
There's riches all around for the taking
We can have it all, our life is for the making
The ladybug dabbed the little fairy's eyes
Coughed again and said now dry your eyes
There is a treasure a jewel so close to me
She's standing here can't you see
And where is the treasure? the little fairy said
And holding up a mirror bright, the ladybug spied
It's you, your smile is as bright as the stars
Your eyes twinkle brighter than those afar
We can have the heavens on earth if we choose
It's up to all of us me and you
The little fairy at last understood
And fluttered away in a better mood
As for the lady bug she coughed and then she sighed
And smiled as the stars came out to play in the darkening evening sky
