MY LEGACY
My legacy to you
Is what I say is true
Never will I lie
Nor intentionally make you cry
I give you my heart and all that I possess
And bathe you in love and all it's sweet caress
For you I'd lose a limb
And give up my life in a whim
But most of all I'd sell
My soul for within you dwell
And if you said goodbye
My heart it would break, wither and die
But I wouldn't hold you back nor you would I imprison
For I'd hold you tight in my memory, till I'm old, frail and wizened
For my legacy to you and I say this quite intentionally
I love you enough to let you go for I love you so unconditionally
No matter where you roam as the years now drift by
Nothing will ever change as long as the sun shines in the sky
I hope one day I'll gaze
In your eyes and touch your face
I know I do in my sleep
Within my dreams and the secrets they hold deep
Perhaps one night you'll dream of me
And one last time I'll say, I love you, this is my legacy
