QUOTES

“It was a very special moment for John's spirit was awakening and he was opening up, I had touched and resonated with his soul. It was more than just cyber sex, more than making love with someone you loved, it was blending souls as soul mates do and it was an incredible moment for the two of us. We both cried beautiful happy tears”
Astrid Brown, A Psychic Affair: A Romantic Novel
"I don't know what you have done, my mind is not my own
For you have magicked me for my feelings for you have grown
I did not set to fall in love, for you must have cast a spell
For you have bewitched me and all my doubts dispel
What spell have you cast to enchant me like this?
To make me fall in love and ache for your kiss”

“I heard your whispered fantasies so clear
Softly told in my ear
I opened my eyes you weren't there
So real my dream, I was so aware
But we'll meet again so certainly
In our whispered fantasy”
Astrid Brown, Whispered Fantasies

WHAT DOES FRIENDSHIP MEAN TO YOU?

Add to Technorati Favorites

I was philosophizing this morning about how my life has developed and how far I've come, especially this last couple of years, has life changed me, what have I learned, have I become stronger or weaker, what has changed and am I the better for it? Looking back, yes I have changed, but for the better, I've discovered a lot about me and I've realized I can be more resourceful and I'm much stronger than I first thought.

I'm not going to go into it in any detail as the past has gone and I personally don't feel dwelling on the past benefits any of us, for once it's gone, you can never get it back and life, like the Earth and the world evolves and that is how it's meant to be. Change is good it teaches us new things, prevents us from becoming stagnant and helps us grow spiritually for the better. We can choose to stay in our comfort zone forever or try too, but to do so prevents us from developing new facets to our personalities and learning about others.

It is my belief, life, the Universe, God call it what you will, change is meant and designed to help us be aware of those other than ourselves. Not only does it does it teach us about ourselves, our strengths and weaknesses and how WE resonate with others, it teaches others about themselves, through their interaction with us.

Concerning friendship, the topic of this blog, it made me aware of what true friendship is about. Many of you will realize the terms "Fair-weather Friend" and "Crocodile Tears" and if you do not let me explain what they are. A Fair-weather friend is someone who is only interested in you when things are going well for you as soon as any storms and troubles affect you they disappear. Crocodile Tears pertains to when crocodiles chew their victims the action of their chewing affects their tear ducts and makes them appear to cry when chewing, making them appear remorseful and sad at doing so, in other words, they are not true tears and they really don't give a hoot about you or what they have done.

In this last couple of years, I have really learned what constitutes and who my true friends are. True friends will stick out the storms with you and when you are going through really difficult times, they will stay around to help you out. Even if there is not much they can do, they will do their very best to empathize and share your pain and wont walk away, even if they are having storms themselves for they know in their heart, when you are able you will be there for them too. A true friend loves you unconditionally, does not foist their opinions on to you, but will genuinely understand and share your bad times as well as your good. The other thing belief I have about friendship, is no matter how awful a friend has been to you, you can forgive them if they themselves have learned and come to realize, what a fair-weather friend they have been to you. I myself can forgive anything if the perpetrator has become aware of the pain they have caused and are genuinely remorseful for it. That does not mean you have to be a doormat, far from it forgiveness is not about that. None the less some never do and all you can do to prevent harm to your own soul is to walk away from such toxic friendships, forgive them because holding on to grudges and bearing malice only hurts you in the end. Some of you may have had a situation like this as I have myself recently. Someone I thought was a very good friend alas with a heavy heart I had to disassociate myself from her. I bear no malice and forgive but until they become aware of true friendship that is how it must be.

FOR VALENTINES DAY "CUPID'S SURPRISE"

CUPID'S SURPRISE

How it happened I don't know
Crept up unknowing, couldn't walk away
Just couldn't let you go
I tried to put you out of my mind
But you were there, always there
And you were so sweet and kind
Cupid's arrows have this way
Of striking the unaware
And making the struck, stay
Of trying to run away and hide
I just could no longer hold back the tide
So here I am bearing my soul
I give you my heart, its tattered and barely whole
But it feels right to let you have it such as it is
My head is swimming with thoughts such as this
You crept in under my skin
I'm smiling as I say, I wasn't going to let you in!
But you've etched your impression on my brain
And now I can no longer be the same
So I stand before you and look deep in to your eyes
And know for all of cupid's surprise
No one is more so than I
No point in arguing, why?
Just accept we don't chose when to fall in love

Taking Personal Responsibility for Your Own Destiny

Since its Valentines Day soon

A VALENTINE FOOL

Valentines kisses and caress's sweet bliss
Passions pleasured touches contained in a kiss
Love is blind, love is cruel
And love will turn you into a fool
I say these words so cynically
Today I mean them so melancholy
Yesterday seemed so far so long ago
If only I knew then what I do now know
Funny thing how crazed we become
So head over heels about someone
Until the bubble of passion bursts
And its not at first you see the worst
For one day the curtain of blindness lifts clear
Meeting you there your very worse fear
And so love is blind for love is cruel
And love will turn you into a fool

THE FOLLOWING SELECTION IS FROM "A DEDICATION TO SOMEONE SO VERY SPECIAL"

'SOUL'S SONG'

The sweet song my soul sings
Of love and emotion so true
Aches when I think of you
Each waking second that is past
Each moment spent feels like the last
And yet with quiet trepidation
I am flung into this whirlwind
Of doubt and hesitation
But would I go or try
To run, to escape, I think not
For love it gives both pain and pleasure
For all the sorrow that this brings
The joy is multiplied
For one sweet word said from you
Heals my soul and happiness it sings

A ROSEBUD

Funny how you can be lonely in a crowd
Surrounded all around by people, by friends
And yet there is an unseen wall that divides
Devised for protection I guess
When all the world was cruel
Learning how to survive in a critical world
Had my body, but not my heart and soul
You said to yourself
And brick, by brick you constructed to survive
A fragile heart, so wounded on the other side
A pink rosebud never allowed to bloom
Whose thorns sharp, grew tough and strong
That rosebud never saw the sun shine
Nor felt the warmth bathe its petals
To open its delicate heart or fragrance drift
Imprisoned in the cage of thorns
Thorns imprisoned wounded and bled its heart
So behind the wall there is a fragile bloom
That longs to feel suns golden light
And dance in loves rain
But that rosebud knows no other
A gilded cage of thorns surrounds its heart
A contradiction of fear and protection
She knows not how and begs learn

DIARY OF A LOVE AFFAIR

Those tender sweet beginings
I called you sweet
You said you no I'm not
And god I thought you were so hot
I couldn't wait for that next mail
With building excitement and trepidation
through this sweet trance I'd sail
We had the silly stupid fights
We'd say the stupidest of things
And then we'd make up all the night
What a sweet rollercoaster
Up and down and all over
Full of passion and crazed raw emotions
Of wanting and needing
God what a commotion
And then one day
You had to say
Words I wasn't familiar with
Not for me I thought
Suspiction rained I ought
To have seen it comming
You said I'd changed
If I had it was not my doing
You seemed so cold I felt it so
You'd cooled so much I know
And then came the days that became so long
Long lonely nights pouring tears into my favourite song
It no longer is I cant bear to hear
It cuts me up and makes me shed a tear
Of passions hot that burning kind
Of passions where you feel you're loosing your mind
And then I knew there was no more excuses
You always promised you would say
if you felt you couldn't stay
It would have been better had it been that way
But no you had to take it all wrong
So now all I have is that song
No more can I listen it cuts me up inside
All because of your stupid damn pride
To admit we all make mistakes
You got it all wrong you made it a mess
All you had to do was answer a yes
And admit it was a stupid fight
And now I cant bear to have you in sight
Not because I am angry or mad
I am just feeling so low and sad
Of silly miscontrued conversations
You got it all wrong why cant you see
You got all the wrong impression from me
And all because of stupid pride
We're both cut up and hurting inside
Maybe one day you'll see what you've lost
The love of a woman who loved you the most
She loved you enough to let you go
She never could hate you for fucking up so

N A CROWDED PLACE I WILL KNOW YOU

I daydream of the day when we will meet
The day when I will have that first glance of you
In a crowded place I will know you
As I have known you so many times before
All those lifetimes will be recalled
And precious moments relived
When we are reunited once more

That first tentative look
That first shy smile
Will wipe away all those fears
And time will stand still
As we will recall all those lifetimes
And the passing of the years

And suddenly you will know me
As you once knew and remember that love
That true love we had once more
That electric touch, that shiver, that sudden spark
Will erase all doubts
And all those sweet memories will be recalled
As if just were yesterday as before

Each time before I sleep I pray
Tonight will be that day
When I am reunited my love
When all those years will dissipate and go
God Baby I truly love you so

TELL ME LOVER

Tell me lover do you dream of me
Do you think of me as I think of you
Do you see things the same way as me
Tell me lover do you write to me
Unsent letters just as I do
Letters written deep from within my heart
Words I write when we are apart
Do you ache for me as I do for you
Tell me lover do you still want me
Just as much as I so want you
Tell me lover do you still crave me so
Do you desire me as much I do for you
Tell me lover are you dreaming now
Am I still there deep inside your head
As you lie asleep inside your warm bed
Let me tell you lover I think I know
I know just how much you love me so

CHANGE PERHAPS NO BAD THING!

Change

Have you noticed people will always gravitate to those of a similar type? It is the way of the Universe, we are attracted to kindred spirits and those friends you are meant to be with, and well you will stay with and attract kindred souls. Those whom we are to help and those whom can help us will be led to us.

There are fundamental laws in the Universe, one of which is, “The law of Attraction”, as referred to above. Another is “The law of vacuum”; where we give something up to be replaced by something new as in “Change”

Sometimes change is not always bad, it can be for the better and that is good. All change is hard; it is like leaping into the unknown. It is this unknown that creates the fear and the reluctance to embrace it. I recall the first time I tried a really deep type of meditation a very deep Buddhist type. In most types of meditation, you focus on breathing. Often as you sink deeper into a medative, state you start to receive information often in the form colours or visions. Within this deep type of meditation the idea is to still your mind completely, where there is nothing, no pictures, no sounds, no focusing on anything. The first few times you do this it’s very important you do it in company. What you feel is like a huge black precipice before you, and you feel genuine fear as you teeter on the edge. You feel a fear if you give in and jump you will not ever come back. No joking that is what is feels like to get so deep with this type. This is why its important you practice this under the guidance of someone experienced. However, when you face your fears and go with it, the Ecstasy, tranquility, and peace you find are completely out of this world. It is very difficult to achieve this sensation for long, but it is truly amazing.

So not all change is bad and there comes a time in our lives when we have to go with it, and no amount of cajoling ourselves can stop what has begun. The Universe knows what we need and that what we do not, even if it means we leave things behind. Some of which will hurt and hurt us bad, but to continue will only hurt us more in the end. We cannot interfere in the development of others. We have to allow them to develop at their own pace and it can hurt to see those we love make mistakes and fall off the route they were meant to travel, but we were all given free will and we have the choice to leave the road that is meant for us. Most of us will eventually find our way back, it is almost akin to coming off the motorway walking along the grass verge and hoping into the field for a bit, but eventually we find the motorway again. Sadly, others do not and although you may offer advice and guidance to a few, if they do not want to accept it, then we have to let them find their own way. All we can do is wave them goodbye with love.

It is from mistakes we learn It is an old saying as one door closes another will be opened up for us, but it is a true one. It can take courage to go tentatively inside, we can always leave the old door open for a bit and if it stays open well that's OK, but should we find it closed, well there is no point in banging on that door. What we chose to do is up to us for the opportunities are there. It is because we are diving into the unknown that we feel fear, but then again change can be exciting, new and different so perhaps we should just feel the fear and go with it, perhaps it is part of our journey of life.
